Hailey Lowe Fennell investigates the tension between urbanism and nature, technology and nature, our bodies and the land we live on. Through her performative installations and video documentation she explores ephemerality, identity and boundaries through the lens of technology.
Fennell earned her MFA from SCAD Atlanta in 2011 and graduated at the top of her class as the Excelsus Laureate - an honor given to one graduate each year. While she is currently based in South Carolina, she travels and films for her Machines Series throughout the southeast, nationally and abroad. She often uses her outdoor motion sensor camera at one show or in its surroundings to create work for her next show.
